Sushi Kinsen

I was able to visit Kinsen in February 2026 for the first day of the Spring menu and had enjoyed my visit there.
Kinsen was recommended to me by friends as well as friends at Yeobo Darling and I can see why a lot recommended me because of the heavy lean towards fish, less appetizers. Haha.
I was waiting for timing for Spring. Maybe one of my favorite seasons. It was $200 price point without gratuity included and leaned a lot of fish with only the tamago and chawanmushi being the non-sushi dishes which is solid for how expensive the bay area prices are imo. Their soft opening official ends in March 2026.
It was great meeting Chef Jason and Sunny. There were not many appetizers and just a lot of fish which was great especially if party leans fish. They are edomae and do really focus on execution of the fish.
Chef Kunihide Nakajima is Chef Jason’s mentor from what I have learned as well from this visit and my first time hearing about Sushi Kinsen from nigirikuni’s visit.
